A big thank you to Peter, Barbara and Jason from the UCLA Meteorite Gallery for the great presentation and samples of meteorites. There were a lot of fantastic meteorites on display. At break many people had many questions which were graciously answered by our guests. See the pictures below.
Just a reminder that this Wednesday, October 12, at the monthly meeting Peter Utas and his son Jason, from UCLA, will be giving a presentation on meteorites.
Also October 29, 2016, is the annual Calico Hunt, The huntmaster is Bruce Gentner. The hunt will be at the KOA Campgrounds at 35250 Outer Highway 15 North in Yermo. The KOA phone number is (760) 254-2311.
Peter Utas and his son Jason will be giving a talk at our October club meeting. Peter is one of the Advisory Committee Members and Jason is a PhD student at the UCLA Meteorite Collection. They are both avid and experienced meteorite hunters and are experts on the topic.
Our speaker for this meeting is going to be Bob Hirsch.
Bob will be talking about tokens.
If you have a collection of tokens or if you have tokens you can’t identify or even if you have just one or two unusual tokens, please bring them to show and maybe Bob or someone will be able to identify them for you.
